If I explain more I'll spoil it, but I so wish it had been a little different. Climax isn't the greatest, not as good as "Ghosts" but getting there is a lot of fun. I don't mean that as a slur, but when my son was in his Percy phase a few years ago this would have been too slow for him since a lot of the plot is interpersonal or even just in the main character's head. Sure there's suspense and some action scenes, but this is not the one punch after another of Percy Jackson. Another warning - this is not an "action" novel. You'll be confused without reading her other Greenglass House books first. Legendary smugglers, suspicious teachers, and some scary bad guys are just a few of the adults the crew must circumvent while discovering hidden truths about their families and themselves in this smart, richly imagined tale.
